Great concept, not just yet September 6, 2010 Bingoprof (West Hartford, CT USA) It's very simple: with virtually no illumination, it will not project in anything other than a pitch black room. It's a great form factor, and I was probably hoping for more than such a tiny thing could deliver. Returning it to Amazon was a breeze. Who knows? maybe some day a tiny pocket projector will be able to deliver. Not yet...
Great for movie night! August 28, 2010 cybershopper (Macomb Twp, Michigan USA) I got one of these for fathers day this year. We've been using it 2 - 3x's per week for movie night since. We find the picture quality to be good (we are projecting on an 8'W x 5'H screen from a distance of about 17 feet). We hook up some wireless speakers to create a 'surround sound' effect & it feels like we are at the theater! My only issues are: The unit is pretty hot after watching a full movie (you can still touch it but the heat is considerable); Battery life won't get you through a full movie - so we end up using the adapter only. I'd definitely suggest this to a friend (in fact my brother-in-law is picking one up).
Awsome !!!! August 21, 2010 SMU I just bought this little pup... and I must say it's well worth it!!! I had five other friends look at it and they all loved it as well. I hooked mine up with a mini hd cable I bought and it looks pretty good, but the downfall to it is that the sound is very poor and you pretty much have to rely on external speakers or headphones. It also heats up quite a bit, but I watched it straight for about 3-4 hours with no problem. Great that it has the mini SD slot if you don't want to hassle with extra cables and setups. Strongly recommend it...
This projector is a marvel of technology. August 18, 2010 RIVAUD 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is difficult for me to speak in English.
I am french.
This projector has a very beautiful quality of image
On the three pictures, the screen measures 130CM = 52 pouces, but it's the same things with 60 pouces.
But with the connection HDMI, the quality of the image is excellent.
The blacks are very black, and the whites are whiter than white.
Thank you has optoma for this wonderful machine.
It is necessary necessaire to buy the second battery.
I ordered the remote control at AMAZON, It is still better, and there are more functions.
Thank you AMAZON and thank you OPTOMA
Sorry for my bad english. Stéphane (Steve)
Little projector for little money July 10, 2010 Kurt Kowalski 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This little projector is a joy in the dark.
The ability to throw in a SD card and let it play is genius. It will even pick a piece of music off the card to play with your picture slide show.
Unfortunately, it is not bright enough to use in any but the darkest rooms. If you intend to use this on the road where you might not get a completely dark room, or you need to use it along with written materials, then this projector is not for you.
