Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Notevision XR-32X offers brilliant high-resolution images - with 2500 ANSI lumens brightness, 2200:1 contrast ratio and XGA native resolution. Its HDCP compliant DVI-D input ensures virtually noise-free images from digital sources, while the DLP display technology delivers superior color quality, brightness and reliability. Ultra-quiet cooling fans along with DLP sealed system and filter-less lamp design make the projector an ideal choice for extended-use operation. Closed caption and a full complement of inputs and outputs, means the compact and lightweight projector is ideal for both "portable" use and fixed.

5 out of 5 stars Great Home Projector   December 9, 2009
Edwin Becker
I find this unit amazing. The picture is as clear as any flat screen, except as large as you like. Mine throws to a 120 inch screen, across a 30 foot room and does very well in daylight. I use it for cable, computer, DVDs, etc.. Much better than a conventional TV, in that when the screen is raised, the whole viewing experience takes up no wall space. None better in this price range.

5 out of 5 stars Double Duty Projector worthy of HDTV   October 24, 2008

I needed a projector for presentations that was pretty bright and easy to carry around. I could find lots of standard resolution projectors in the 5-600 dollar range, but saw this one at a local discount club that was $700 that has XGA 1024x780 resolution. Since I don't have a HDTV, I thought this might be a way to get double-duty out of the projector. I have a HDTV OTA tuner box that has DVI-D output. It also has a built in up-converting DVD player as well. I got a DVI-D cable and hooked up the tuner box to this projector and WOW! I was amazed at the sharpness and color this projector outputs. The other poster used the word "stunning" and that is a good description. The menus of the projector are pretty easy to understand and it is really quiet if you choose the dimmer bulb mode. On "High" it is somewhat noisy if you sit next to it, but not too distracting, especially if you have the sound up at a normal volume. I use the tuner box for outputting the sound instead of the projector speaker. For a presentation the internal speaker works fine. I tried buying this projector from Amazon, but they fouled up the shipping instructions for the free shipping so I bought it at the Big Box discount club for $40 more. I think you would like this projector. I have made a 72" homemade movable screen for it. We are enjoying large screen HDTV!

4 out of 5 stars Home Theatre Replacement Projector Sharp XR-32X   September 7, 2008

I've only had this projector for a couple of days but it looks stunning on my 10' screen (106" diagonnal 16:9).
It replaced an HP VP 6320 that I really loved and this looks just as good.
I am using this as a home theatre projector and it comes well-equipped for that job. It has a DVI-D port (easy to find adapter that changes it to an HDMI) and it is DHCP compliant so there are no upscaling issues or other "digital rights" problems.
I am using it to view HD-DVD's and Blu Ray discs, and while it doesn't do 1080P, it does handle 1080i and 720P with perfection.
Bright enough for a normal room with normal lighting (you don't have to turn off lights to see this bright picture. yet blacks are black and colors are vibrant.
The cheapest 1080p projector out there is still well-over 2 thousand dollars, so if you aren't quite ready to sell out $2500 for a 1080p projector, consider the Sharp XR-32X, which renders perfection on the screen for less than $800 ($795 at Sam's and Amazon).
