| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Sony VPL-HS10, build on the success of the VPL-HS1 Cineza projector, is an easy to use tabletop Home Entertainment Projector. This projector utilizes newly developed Sony Wide p-Si TFT LCD Panels optimally designed for DVD-Video movie viewing, which due to their very nature create a smooth and seamless image. The VPL-HS10 projector maintains the minimalist design concept but utilizes 3 x wide XGA LCD panels with a total of over 3 million pixels; ideal for viewing high-resolution JPEG images using the projector's built-in Memory Stick slot. MPEG1 movies recorded using a Sony camcorder or Sony digital still camera can also be easily replayed. Brightness on this model is improved (1200 ANSI) as well as black level reproduction (by 1.5 times) for an overall superior performance.

| Customer Reviews: Fantastic quality November 24, 2004 mistersafety (Scotland) Don't know what "electronics fan" is talking about! I bought this two years ago and have never regretted it. Fantastic picture quality, looks and build. Never had a problem with it and, since the HS20 has come out, the price you can get this at now is an absolute steal.
You can't beat the value March 12, 2004 Shane J Woodruff (Leominster, MA United States) I researched projectors in the range of $2000-$6000, and could not find a better value than the hs-10. Good brightness, decent contrast ratio, and the DVI input make this unit a great deal. I bought almost a year and a half ago. Now I might go with the VPL-HS20. And the name Sony sounds good too.
Cheap Price & Quality October 26, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A lot of features for price. An excellent entry-level projector. Its WXGA resolution eliminates screendoor effect and so makes it a great projector for watching DVD, TV as well as games. Watching HDTV on it is a treat to eyes. It's not the ideal -but somewhat livable- projector for movies because of horrendous black levels and low shadow details. Specified lamp life of 3000 hours is bull. Expect to change lamp after every 750 hours or less. It gets too dim after that. It's not at all rare to have to send the projectors to Sony for repairs (which takes 4-6 weeks at a time). If you can live with these irritants, it's a great projector for cheap.
