I admit to a lot of trepidation that I'd buy this part, and wouldn't be able to do the repair myself. However, though the directions in the Sony TV manual seemed confusing and daunting, the process was quite intuitive and ended up being very easy. The part arrived in perfect condition, and the hardest part was removing 3 years of cobwebs and dust from the inside compartment before replacing the part. And, after a year of dimmed light on our screen, it was just like having a new TV when I replaced the lamp! DO NOT BE AFRAID. This is truly a repair that even the most unskilled consumer can make to the Sony Bravia TV. IMPORTANT TIP: be sure to WEAR SOME KIND OF GLOVES (I just used disposable latex surgical gloves) to install.

I bought this for my KDF50E3000 Sony Bravia because the lamp was going bad and kept shutting off. Installation was fairly easy and simple. Now my TV is way brighter than it was before and looks brand new again. The only problem is that you have to go through your picture settings and readjust to compensate to get the colors looking just right again.

THE BULB CAME PACKED SAFE AND SECURE, WAS VERY EASY TO INSTALL IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO INSTALL AND GAVE NEW LIFE TO A 50 INCH TV. THE SHIPPING WAS FAST AND OVERALL THE SERVICE AND PRICE WAS EXCELLENT.

the sony/phillips lamp with housing works great!, very easy install will buy from seller agin you can't go wrong with this item,tv shows like new all over agin.colors bright,picture sharp, kids complain that the tv is to bright now wow, thanks agin sony/phillips.
